The Cursillo Movement in the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas
The 4th Day --
Now the Journey Begins
The weekend is your 3-Day experience. Once completed you enter the 4th Day of your Cursillo journey. This is where you live what you have experienced and learned over the 3-days in your retreat. Here you practice taking the love for Christ to others, your family, your friends, your co-workers and even perfect strangers you encounter in your daily environments.
But, you don't experience this journey alone. Two methods help invigorate the Cursillista.
-
Friendship Groups -- These are small groups generally held in your immediate geographic area that meet weekly. Men and women meet separately. Here you review your weekly piety, study and action and become accountable to your fellow Cursillistas for the work you do spreading the love of Christ. It is here that friendships are formed, bonds are built and the love of Christ multiplies for His glory.
-
Ultreya -- A Spanish word meaning "Onward" and this is commonly used by pilgrims to greet and to encourage one another along the way. The Ultreya is the gathering of the Friendship Groups -- to share what everybody lives in a broader community. Ultreyas serve to link these small groups together in a Christian community and to help and support one another in the attempts to remain Christ-centered. Ultreyas meet several times a month around the Archdiocese.
Social Activities - Through out the year our local movement hosts several social events like picnics, workshops and other gatherings that offer opportunities to engage and extend fellowship within the Cursillo Community.
